When Jocelyne Sibuet opened the Fermes de Marie in 1989, in the highly popular Haute Savoie resort of Megève, she pioneered the very concept of the Mountain Spa. And so it was that the spa at the Fermes de Marie came into being in 1990. Her encounter with a mountain plants expert, who introduced her to the cosmetic properties of the Edelweiss, was a trigger that lead to the launch of her beauty range in 2000. Her challenge was to use natural ingredients from the mountains to make innovative formulations with textures and fragrances that bring the world of the Fermes de Marie to mind. The mountain influence is found throughout the concept, both in the choice of the ingredients and the understated design of the products. In all, 70 mountain plants are used in the formulations.
